future?

Today is one of those days where after spending nearly $900 on testing fees and review materials (nope not done yet and there has already been about 1400 spent) and increasing my 8.5% interest loans by $5000 and hating my family medicine rotation that I have no real direction in life.  Sure sure next come's the common phrase from anyone outside of medicine "but you're going to be a doctor....."  and "doctors make a lot of money"  Please take a long look at the healthcare bill, malpractice, the cost of tuition, the average hours worked, and the pay during residency and get back to me.  (Not to mention the process of getting to the status of "attending".   I will say margaritas and tacos with a fellow mwu student did relieve some stress tonight and I'm very thankful for that.  Also, god bless groupon.

As Chicago marathon entry is now almost full I feel like its about time to post this.  Registration officially opened Wednesday the first at noon and as of now I'd guess there are less than 5000 spots open out of the origial 45000.  Yikes.  Well, I was lucky enough to not have to deal with the busy server on Wednesday afternoon (Chicago Endurance mag was predicting the race to sell out on the 1st) and I knew that registering while at work would be a pain in the @$$.  My run club (Fleetfeet) was kind enough to set up a special early registration night with a fun run, snacks, and a couple olympians in attendance.  6:30 on Jan 31st I was registered with a confirmation email  YAYYYY!!!!!!  I'm so excited and was really inspired at all the athletes out that night.

Can't wait for October and the runs I have ahead of me with my lovely girlfriends Kristin and April.

Still deciding if I'm running with a charity.  World Vision Park church team vs St. Jude? hmmmm .....

hmmm no surprise here

hahahah, I'm currently looking at Emergency Medicine residencies as my final educational path and career (thank goodness, I'm over school)  I guess that makes me crazy??!    And if not that I'm looking Medicine (Ped's is still in contention pending my peds rotations) so I guess that makes me nice too???  YAY!  :)  I got a little bit of chuckle out of this, thought maybe my med school friends or those who have close contacts going through this whole medical school process might appreciate this for a quick laugh.
